Garbage Disposal Repair in Denver
Before you replace your garbage disposal, it might just need a repair. Denver Disposal is the Denver metro area's only dedicated garbage disposal specialist, and we'll always tell you honestly whether your unit needs to be repaired or replaced.
Common Garbage Disposal Problems We Fix
Most disposal issues fall into a handful of categories. If yours is doing any of the following, there's a good chance we can fix it without replacing the whole unit:
Your disposal hums but won't spin. This usually means something is jammed in the grinding chamber. It could be a piece of bone, a utensil, or food buildup that's locking the flywheel in place.
Your disposal won't turn on at all. This could be an electrical issue, a tripped reset button, or a blown circuit. Sometimes the fix is as simple as pressing the reset button on the bottom of the unit.
Your disposal is leaking from the top or side. Leaks from the sink flange or the dishwasher connection point can often be fixed by tightening or resealing the connection. A leak from the bottom of the unit is a different story, and that typically means it's time for a replacement.
Your disposal drains slowly. Food buildup in the drain line or the grinding chamber can cause standing water in the sink. A good cleaning or clearing the line usually solves it.
Your disposal makes loud or unusual noises. Grinding, rattling, or screeching sounds usually mean something is caught inside or a component is loose.
When Repair Makes Sense (and When It Doesn't)
We'll never push you toward a replacement if a repair will solve the problem. But we'll also be straight with you when a repair isn't worth the money. As a general rule, if your disposal is under 8 years old and the issue is a jam, a leak from a connection point, or an electrical problem, repair is usually the right call. If the unit is older than 8 to 10 years, leaking from the bottom, or needs repairs frequently, replacement is almost always the better investment.
Either way, we'll explain your options and give you the price before any work starts. No pressure, no upselling.
